We are in the process of selling the house I bought in Hudson MA 3 years ago…not very easy in the current market. It is a beautiful house, almost 100 years old, and I’m sure that someone will love it as much as I have. The house has one small-ish bathroom. When I moved in, it was a hideous purple with a black and white vinyl floor. I wanted to re-do the whole bathroom, new floor, walls, tub, vanity, but didn’t (when there is only 1, it is hard to deconstruct a bathroom while living there). So, I painted everything and put a new floor down. But, knowing that someday I’d gut it I made it bright and weird with a faux finish to mimic crumbling walls. Definitely not everyone’s taste. Shukie and I re-did the whole thing - carpentry, plumbing, contracting, painting, demolition. It was pretty cool. Now it looks awesome, and like the bathroom I had actually wanted when I redid it the first time. I just hope it helps with the sale! See the pics.

I start a new photo class this week. I had taken classes and spent hours and hours every week taking and printing pictures…then I bought my house and money and time were sucked up by it. I bought a digital SLR and took a class last year, but it didn’t really click with me. I’m giving it another try with the digital, but if it doesn’t work out, I’ll find the time to head into the darkroom again. The class is called “A Kick in the Pants”….which is what I need. Shukie and I went into Boston last weekend, to the waterfront, and I brought my camera and took some pics. Here are a couple. I hope to keep posting more in the coming weeks as my pants get thoroughly kicked.

Shukie and I spent the weekend in Alpharetta GA a bit ago for a visit with Dear Old Dad and Leslie. We took the CNN tour (didn’t see anyone famous – Anderson Cooper must have been hiding from me) and went to one of my favorite places to eat in Atlanta, Café Intermezzo. We went up to Athens and got a tour of the UGA campus from Lee, Leslie’s daughter. We finished off with a meal at a great tapas place in town. Reminds me of when we went to Spain on a family vacation and Kerri wanted to take us to her favorite tapas place. Dad eventually just had to know why it was Kerri wanted to take her family to a topless bar! Check out the pics from our trip.
